Amazing to have an Egyptian Dictionary in your pocket!
Im not an Egyptologist so cant speak from that perspective, but I am studying Egyptian with an online group and as a student of Egyptian find this application enormously helpful. Aaous interface is elegant and well thought out. It makes good use of picker wheels to select hieroglyps or transliterations to search for words. The entries for each word are beautifully laid out, with stunning glyphs for the hieroglyphs, unobtrusive Gardiner sign list encodings of the signs, the transliteration of the signs, and clear English equivalents. The dictionary seems quite comprehensive and often contains alternative spellings (and the author promises to add to the vocabulary). The one nit is that when using the picker wheel in the transliteration search, Aaou performs an incremental search and manipulating the wheels gets a little finicky. But thats a small issue given the power of this application.
Update: I reviewed version 1.1.3 just before 1.1.5 was releaeased. The finickiness of the picker wheels in transliteration mode was fixed in the new version. It works very smoothly now. So Ive upgraded my rating to 5 stars.
